10. DeMario Douglas

Is DeMario already the best Wide Receiver the Patriots have drafted since Julian Edelman? In his first two years Douglas has improved steadily and have become the best slot option on the team. At 5'8", 192 lbs. Douglas never had the best size or the best speed but his shiftiness is almost elite and his willingness and ability to play the slot role in this offense is perfect.

Douglas' chances of bein the Team MVP took a major hit when they signed Stefon Diggs. Now being the #2 or even #3 receiver on the team, Douglas will get most of his receptions between the 1 and 5-yard mark and may have the best chance to get 100 catches this season and will impress New England fans the most with his grittiness.

9. Will Campbell

The top-draft pick for the Patriots this season and the only offensive lineman on this list, Will Campbell has an extremely high potential even in his first year. Campbell's skills as a pass blocker may be exposed early due to his short reach but his run blocking should be elite right away. Patriots fans haven't quite grasped how great of a lineman he is, but the leadership qualities may be his most underrated quality. As the LSU Captain, he set the tone on the field and in the gym for his team at the young age of 19. Imagine what he can do surrounded by older professionals and with better coaching.

His chances of team MVP as a rookie lineman are very low but Campbell would be the only player of his draft class to do it. As a starting Left Tackle, Campbell will have pressure to sink or swim. If he swims from Day 1, his respect inside the team will be immeasurable.

8. Kyle Dugger

One of the longest-tenured Patriots on the roster, Dugger will be slightly changing his role and might drastically improve this season because of it. As a Strong Safety in the past, Dugger's role was more base coverage-based than a roaming downhill-safety like SS should be. Now that the team has Gonzalez and Davis ready for next season, Dugger should be an extra linebacker and Nickelback this season. Dugger's physicality, tackling and play recognition will make him an elite box safety coupled with the team's new corners.

Dugger has a real shot at earning this honor and may cross the 100-tackle mark again in a big way. Kyle will be the swiss-army knife of this defense and with team's game planning against the two or three bigger names on this defense, he may turn into an under-looked phenom on this unit.

7. TreVeyon Henderson

Another rookie from the very-talented 2025 class, in my opinion, Tre Henderson will be the starting RB in New England by Week 3 or 4. His ability to catch and run with the ball from the RB position will be an instant fit in the Josh McDaniels-offense. He has insane burst as a runner and receiver and should have 2 or 3 huge gains for TDs gthis season as well. A 50-catch, 500 yard season out of the backfield is well within Henderson's reach and if he breaks out for multiple TDs, he could be a threat for OROY as well.

Henderson's chance of being Team MVP is legit. It will all depend on when the team feels comfortable giving him 15-20+ touches a game. If it is in the first quarter of the season, look for the youngster to emulate James White and Danny Woodhead right away.

6. Carlton Davis

Another new addition, Carlton Davis comes to town with a great background and brings a necessary veteran presence to this DB locker room. The crazy part about Davis is that he won't be covering WR1s all the time as he'll split the role with Christian Gonzalez. Davis is a tremendous zone cover corner and has been amongst the leagues Top-10 corners for 3 or 4 years now. His move to New England should constitute a home he can grow into and become a Top-3 CB2.

His chances of being Team MVP aren't great but depend on his willingness to play CB2. If he marks the second best receiver all year he may be the unsung hero of the team. They say the best thing to hear about a Cornerback is that you don't hear their name at all and Davis has a shot to do just that all season long.

5. Harold Landry

Coming from the Titans to reunite with Mike Vrabel, Landry should be the team's top edge rusher this season immediately. With a dip in production over his last 3 healthy seasons, Landry has something to prove as he joins the Patriots but has a much better team around him to do so. The Patriots defense is stacked all over and their one weak position may be the edges. With Milton Williams and Christian Barmore taking the interior o-line and the secondary causing QBs to stay in the pocket longer, Landry's sack path looks doable this season.

Landry could easily be the Team's MVP if he can get back to the 12+ sack mark he saw in 2021. He could go even higher as well but his ability to stuff the run from the edge will make his sack total slightly less important.

4. Milton Williams

Speaking of Milton Williams, the Super Bowl Champion was the biggest defensive splash in Free Agency and his $26 million/year contract will be a lot to live up to. Williams is an edge rusher in a D-Tackles body and his main task will be to rush the passer. He should be able to pressure the o-line against the run too but as a blitzing 3-tech, Williams will be looking to create lanes for linebackers and Christian Barmore to penetrate the run. His handwork and speed should make another 5+ sack season realistic and for his money, it should be the minimum of what he can do.

Williams has to firmly take the step of burgeoning star to superstar this season and he could totally win this award. With only 1 year of elite production, Williams will have to prove that he can consistently be a force in the backfield and is around a great defense to do it, especially if the Front-7 all play their roles.

3. Stefon Diggs

The biggest name on the team without even playing a snap yet, Diggs made waves this off season for signing in New England and then for... other reasons. Labeled a "diva receiver" there is no question about his skill as he will immediately be the best offensive weapon on this team. More so, since the 'boat incident', all you've heard from Diggs this off season is the chemistry within the offense and the rumors that he will be fully healthy by the start of camp. Diggs has the chance to really open up this offense with Quarterback Drake Maye. Leading the team in all receiving categories should be his goal but it shouldn't stop there. There are many good receivers on this team but Diggs will look to command this unit and probably want 10+ targets a game.

Diggs' chance to be Team MVP may be the best and worst thing to happen to this team. Will be be a diva and go to the press every time he doesn't get 10 targets? Or will he command and earn those 10 targets and revert back to his 1,500-yard seasons he had in Buffalo. Diggs is a necessary evil on this offense and while he could be a pain, he could also be the savior along with...

2. Drake Maye

Surprisingly not taking the #1 place on this offense, Maye still has boom or bust potential in my eyes. After a good but injury-riddled second half of the season, there's no question that this is Maye's team now. With the additions of veteran OC Josh McDaniels, star playmaker Stefon Diggs, rookie sensation Tre Henderson and 3 new offensive linemen to build form last year's turnstyle, Maye has a group around him to get it done. Maye's dual-threat ability is real but he will have to be smarter this season and know when to slide. His passing has potential to be Top-10 in the league but I don't believe he will as it seems more likely the Patriots coaching wants him to take "a step" this season rather than try to make him an MVP.

Maye's the favorite to be the Team's MVP this season but I think there is still a lot of room to grow and not a feverish need to see it all this season. While seeing progress is definitely necessary, Maye has a young core around him and the biggest wish for him this season will be to stay healthy.

1. Christian Gonzalez

In my #1 spot to take home the Patriots' 2025 MVP is Christian Gonzalez. After a great career in Oregon, Gonzalez fell to them at 17 in the draft and I knew right away he would be a special player. Taking over from the run of corners like Stephon Gilmore and JC Jackson, Gonzalez became a lockdown corner right away and is ready to take another step this offseason. With Carlton Davis and Kyle Dugger ready to back him up, I see true potential for Gonzalez to be a Top-3 corner in the league this season. His skill, speed and length will make him cover most teams #1 receiver and not only shut them down but likely cause a few turnovers as well.

Gonzalez may not be the Team MVP because he may not get the chance. Gonzalez could be so good that teams just don't throw the ball to him much this season. To me, that marks a great CB season though and if he does become a true lockdown corner in the league, his presence and play should earn him this award and in my opinion, he has the best chance of anyone on this team to be among the elite at season's end and that's what the Patriots are looking for.
