Andrew Cuomo, From Emmy To Reality

An Op-Ed From SFBNRI’s Uncle Felix

Photo: The Supreme Court And An Emmy Award

New York Governor, Andrew Cuomo went from Emmy to reality in just a matter of days. He went from being praised by the Liberal Elites of Hollywood to being reminded that the First Amendment matters by the Supreme Court.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is planning to honor New York Governor Andrew Cuomo with the academy’s “Founders Award”. The Academy has stated that the award will be handed to Cuomo for his once daily televised coronavirus briefings. This despite his decision to place coronavirus infected patients into nursing homes, among the very people who were and are the most vulnerable to the virus. This decision literally cost thousands their lives.

Apparently it’s not just the elderly susceptible to Cuomo’s questionable decision making.

In a 5-4 ruling on the eve of Thanksgiving, the Supreme Court’s verdict was that the governor’s restrictions on the size of congregations at places of worship violated the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.

Justice Gorsuch penned in his own words:

“It is time — past time — to make plain that while the pandemic poses many grave challenges, there is no world in which the Constitution tolerates color-coded executive edicts that re-open liquor stores and bike shops but shutter churches, synagogues and mosques,” ~Justice Neil Gorsuch

Maybe Cuomo should have shown Gorsuch his Emmy....
