The Toronto Blue Jays came into Game Three hoping that a change of scenery will lead to some offensive fireworks, and it did. It came from some surprise contributors at the bottom of the Blue Jays.
It did not start off well for the Blue Jays to start. In the second inning, Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez launched his third home run of the postseason to give his club an early 2-0 lead.
The Blue Jays responded an inning later. Second baseman Andres Gimenez drilled a two-run over the center field wall to tie it at two, but the scoring was not over. The Blue Jays tacked on three more runs, scoring five runs in the inning, which is more than they scored in the first two games of the series combined.
The Blue Jays would score three straight innings after their initial five-run explosion in the third. Six of the Blue Jays thirteen runs were produced by 6-9 in the lineup.
Throughout the game, the Blue Jays pitching stepped up to hold the Mariners to four runs. Blue Jays starting pitcher and trade deadline acquisition, Shane Bieber went six innings, allowing two runs, and striking out eight in the Game Three victory.
Now the Blue Jays have an opportunity to tie the series tonight, and head back to Toronto with momentum. It will be a tough task though, as Luis Castillo will take the mound for the Mariners, who have had another all-star caliber year in 2025. First pitch is tonight at 8:33 PM on FOX.
