BREAKING: Bruins Fire Jim Montgomery

C/O to bolavip.com

It finally happened. On November 19th, the Boston Bruins officially fired their Head Coach Jim Montgomery after an 8-9-3 start to the 2024-25 NHL season.

Montgomery's tenure with Boston had its ups and downs. In his three years with the Bruins, Montgomery went 120-32-20, making the playoffs in two of those seasons. Under Montgomery's time, he also led Boston to the most successful season in NHL regular-season history, finishing the 2022-23 season with 65 wins.

What did Montgomery in was a mix of two things: Failure in the playoffs and failure to get the most out of the team this year.

In Montgomery's time as a head coach, the Bruins failed to make any sort of mark in the playoffs. They lost in the first round of the playoffs in the 2022-23 season, and the conference semi-finals in the 2023-24 season. The worst part was that both were in game 7's against the Florida Panthers.

Montgomery has also shown no sign of turning around the Bruins' start to the season. Boston should not be struggling as much as they have been so far this year. Boston ranks 5th in goals allowed per game this season, which is unacceptable for a team hoping to make a deep playoff run.

For the time being, Boston has hired former Bruins Assistant Coach Joe Sacco to be the interim Head Coach.
