On Saturday, before the Orioles 7:05 matchup against the Athletics, the Orioles inducted former Orioles center fielder Adam Jones into the Orioles Hall of Fame alongside outfielder Joe Orsulak, and former broadcaster Tom Davis. Jones highlighted a night that ended badly for the Orioles, losing 11-3.

Adam Jones brought excitement to Baltimore in his tenure in orange and black. Jones suited up in the Charm City from 2008-2018. Jones was drafted by the Seattle Mariners 37th overall in the 2006 MLB Draft out of Samuel F.B. Morse High School in San Diego, California. After two seasons as a Mariner, Jones was traded to the Orioles and found his footing in the league in Baltimore.

In his second season as an Oriole, Jones was an all-star and blasted double digit home runs for the first time in his career (19) and earned his first gold glove. By the end of Jones’ 11-year Oriole career, he slashed .279/.319/.459, ranking fourth in franchise history in hits (1,781), fifth in home runs (266), and fifth in RBI (866).

He also racked up some individual accolades in Baltimore by becoming a five-time All-Star, including four straight from 2012-2015, four-time Golden Glove, and one-time Silver Slugger.

Along with Jones' stellar play on the field, he was involved in the community efforts to help Baltimore youth with the Boys and Girls Club.

Some of Jones' former teammates, like Chris Davis and Nick Markais, were there to support Jones, along with other Orioles legends like Cal Ripken Jr. and his former manager Buck Showalter, who formally inducted Jones into the Orioles Hall of Fame.

Jones joins 87 other all-time Orioles. He will forever be known as an Oriole great for his work both on the field and off.
