Houston Texans Went Crazy This Offseason

I know as New England fans we don't pay much attention to teams such as the Texans, but in the landscape of the entire NFL they we should start. After a monster rookie campaign from Quarterback C.J. Stroud, the Texans were HUGE buyers this offseason including today's acquisition of star Bills' Wide Receiver Stefon Diggs.

After their first AFC South title in four years, the Houston Texans made it to the Divisional round of the playoffs and barely lost to the eventual champion Kansas City Chiefs. This year marked a significant turn in their team under first-year Head Coach Demeco Ryans and star phenom Quarterback C.J. Stroud. Other notable rookies include DROY Will Anderson Jr. and emerging wide receiver Tank Dell, (who unfortunately broke his fibula in Week 13 of the season.

After such a promising start to this new regime, the Texans front office decided to go for broke and put all of their eggs in this basket by embarking on an offseason to remember and set their sights on a Super Bowl trophy over the next 4 years.

So far they have acquired Stefon Diggs and Bengals RB Joe Mixon via trades, signing big-name Free Agents CB Jeff Okudah, OLB Danielle Hunter, CB C.J. Henderson and DE Denico Autry, and re-signing WR Noah Brown and TE Dalton Schultz. This team has put a priority on retaining and expanding offensive weapons while putting several new SOLID pieces on their defense. GM Nick Caserio has turned a team that went 3-13-1 in 2022 into a Super Bowl contender and AFC South champion in less than two years.

How far can the Texans go this year? Probably farther than most will expect and can C.J. Stroud put together a strong MVP-like 2024 season? Only time will tell bu their stock is certainly trending up.
