New York- Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka is ranked third in top five in the 2020 Tennis rankings.
Osaka has played exceptional since the restart of tennis tournament. She has dominated the court on both sides of the fence and continues to improve her cross shots. The latest tournament that Osaka won was the US Open against Victoria Azarenka . Osaka showed the world that she can overcome adversity and win in a tough environment. Osaka was down a set against Azarenka, gather herself, and won two consecutive sets to win her second US Open.
Outside of her US Open win, Osaka used her platform in a very "Osaka" way to bring awareness to social justice issues. A lot of fans and teammates loved what Osaka was doing and encouraged her to keep using her platform and using her voice to talk about the issues at hand. When asked about how many names that she will wear on her mask this is how she responded.
"It's quite sad that seven masks isn't enough for the amount of names," Osaka said. "Hopefully, I'll get to the finals and you can see all of them."
The once shy and introverted Osaka is growing into a woman that speaks her mind without losing her authenticity.
