MINNESOTA VS 22 INDIANA

Going into last night’s game against Indiana, the Minnesota Golden Gophers were on a three-game losing streak going into their first conference and AP top 25 matchup of the season. That did not faze the Golden Gophers, as they came out victorious, defeating the Indiana Hoosiers, 73-64, handing them their first loss of the season in the process.
It was a total team effort for Minnesota, as all five starters finished with double figures. Senior guards Cade Tyson and Langston Reynolds led the way for their club, scoring 17 each in the victory.
The game remained tight until Minnesota created some separation in the second half. With nearly seven minutes left in the ball game, Minnesota started an 11-4 run to give them their largest lead of the game at ten.
Indiana cut down their ten point deficit to three with two minutes left, but Minnesota would finish the game on an 8-2 run, stifling the Hoosier comeback, and earning an opportunity to celebrate with the Golden Gopher faithful as they stormed the court after the upset win.
Key to victory: Physicality
The Golden Gophers played like underdogs in this Big Ten bout. In Minnesota’s defense and rebounding, their physicality stood out. Defensively, they held one of the most efficient offenses in the Big Ten to 64 points, which is a season-low for the Hoosiers.
That physicality also reflected on glass, as Minnesota out rebounded Indiana 36-22 in the victory.
Next for the Golden Gophers:
Wednesday, December 10, at 1 Purdue at 7 PM EST
Next for the Hoosiers:
Saturday, December 6, vs Louisville at 2 PM EST
25 ARKANSAS VS 6 LOUISVILLE

In their third ranked matchup of the season, the Arkansas Razorbacks got their first win against a ranked opponent last night, defeating the Louisville Cardinals 89-80 to kick off the ACC/SEC Challenge.
The Razorbacks exploded out the gates, tying a season-high for first half points (47). 17 of those points were contributed by senior forward Trevon Brazile. Brazile looked like he was clearly on pace to drop his first 30 point game of his college career.
An ankle injury he suffered to close the first half slowed down his production going into the second half, but Brazile still notched his second 20+ point game of the season. In the process, he drilled a season-high three threes in the nine point victory.
Brazile’s teammates would pick him up in the second half. Freshman guard Darius Acuff Jr. and senior forward Malique Ewin both scored double digits in the second half to thwart off a late comeback from the Cardinals. They were responsible for 13 of the Razorbacks' last 15 points scored in the second half.
Louisville cut the lead down to six after being down 18 points heading into the second half. Freshman guard Mikel Brown Jr. provided a spark for a Cardinal offense, who scored under 30 in the first half for only the second time this season. Brown Jr. was one of four Louisville starters to finish with double figures, but it was not enough to hold the Calipari-led Razorbacks.
Key to Victory: Arkansas' Hot Start
The Razorbacks set the tone early, establishing a double digit lead midway through the first half.
The Razorbacks spread the wealth offensively. Eight Razorbacks scored in the game, and all of the bench finished in double figures. This gave Calipari confidence that anyone can score down the stretch.
Next for the Razorbacks:
Saturday, December 6 vs Fresno State Bulldogs at 4:00 PM EST
Next for the Cardinals:
Saturday, December 6 at Indiana Hoosiers at 2:00 PM EST
