HOFSTRA VS TEMPLE

The Hofstra Pride traveled two hours south to visit the Temple Owls in the City of Brotherly Love. The Pride were looking to extend their winning streak to three games, but the Owls had other plans. The Owls soared to 81-76 win, advancing to 3-1 for the third straight time to start a season.
It was a total team effort, as 4 of 5 of the Temple starters finished with double digits. The Owls were led by sophomore guard Aiden Tobiason, who had his second 20+ point game this season. The Wilmington, Delaware native is averaging 18 points per contest in four games played this season.
The first half was loaded with lead changes, and neither team were able to get any breathing room. The Owls had the momentum closing the first half, causing two Hofstra turnovers, as they ended the first half up 33-31.
The second half would be more of the same, lead changes and offensive firepower. At the 9:26 mark, Temple would grasp the lead from Hofstra on a Gavin Griffiths three pointer. Temple would not relinquish the lead for the rest of the game.
Hofstra sophomore guard Cruz Davis scored 14 points in the last ten minutes of the game, but it was not enough to stop the Owls from flying to victory.
Key to victory: CLUTCH FREE THROW SHOOTING
Temple led for the majority of the game, but it got tight in the last Temple’s lead, which was as large as five points and small as two.
Down the stretch, Temple put pressure on Hofstra by drawing fouls, and getting to the charity stripe. When they were there, they executed. Converting on nine of ten free throws attempts to close the game.

Monday, November 24, vs UC San Diego at 4:30 PM EST
Next for the Pride:
Friday, November 28, vs LaSalle at 2:00 PM EST

4ARIZONA VS 3UCONN

The Wildcats versus the Huskies was the first matchup between the top five teams of the season, and it did not disappoint.
Arizona held off the UCONN after squandering a 13-point second half lead to remain undefeated in a 71-67 victory on the road.
Senior guard Jaden Bradley was the Wildcats leading scorer, 21 in the victory. Bradley has always been known for his defensive prowess, but this year the Rochester, New York native showed his ability to put the ball in the basket. This combo makes him one of the best two-way players in the nation.
Freshman forward Koa Peat also added a double-double in the victory. Peat outperformed his counterpart, 2026 NBA draft prospect Alex Karaban, who was not aggressive in this game. The 6’8” senior scored eight points on only five shot attempts in the loss.
It was a team effort offensively for the Huskies, as four of five starters finished with double digits. Freshman center Eric Reibe led the way for the Huskies, scoring a team-high 15 points, but it was not enough to hold off the Wildcats.
The Huskies responded to the Wildcats early second half run, coming back from 13 down to take the lead with three minutes left. The Wildcats would go on a late run of their own to take the lead back, closing the game on a 9-3 run.
Key to Victory: REBOUNDING
The Huskies top rebounder Tarris Reed Jr. due to an ankle injury, and showed on the rebounding department. The Huskies were out rebounded 39-19, giving the Wildcats many second chance opportunities.
Next for the Wildcats:
Monday, November 24, vs Denver at 10:30 PM EST
Next for the Huskies:
Sunday, November 23, vs Bryant at 6:30 PM EST
