By a score of 32-13 the Patriots beat the Browns yesterday as they extend the NFL's longest active winning streak at 5. In those 5 games, the Browns are beating teams by an average of 15 points. Besides the Bills, the Patriots haven't had any tough games in that stretch but they are still beating these teams the way a great team should.

Game Review

The first half was actually worrisome as the Browns' defense showed why they are one of the best in the league. Scoring only 9 points on two field goals before halftime, the offense was stalled. Initially, the Patriots showed a good 1-2 punch on the ground with Stevenson and even Tre Henderson having a hot start.

After a field goal-first drive and a punt in the 2nd, Drake Maye would happen to throw only his 3rd interception of the year and his first interception of the 5-game win streak. Browns' rookie-LB Carson Schwesinger made a great jumping pick and run afterward.

The Patriots were somewhat lucky to have their lead at halftime after the Browns missed a field goal in the 2nd that would have made the score 10-9.

Once the 3rd quarter started though, the game was all Patriots. In total, outscoring the Browns 23-3 in the 2nd half.

Scoring touchdowns on their first 3 drives of the third quarter and also grabbing 2 interceptions in between, the Patriots really just put the game away right out of halftime.

Hunter Henry, Kayshon Boutte and FINALLY Stefon Diggs would all grab a receiving touchdown and in Diggs' case would be his first of the year.

On defense, Robert Spillane would grab one of the interceptions but would also play one of his best games of the year. Grabbing 14 tackles including 2 TFLs and his pick, Spillane may be crowned Defensive Player of the Week.

Looking Ahead

The Patriots may be the hottest team in football riding a 5-game win streak and will have their hands full when the Falcons come to town next Sunday.

The Falcons may have been embarrassed at home vs the Dolphins yesterday but make no mistake, this is a good football team with a very strong defense. In particular, the Falcons have the #1 pass defense in the league only allowing 149 yards per game.

In a positive light for the Patriots, the Falcons obviously have had a bad two weeks previously, but are also 1-2 on the road with a score of 32-56 in those games.
