Team Overview

I am a HUGE fan of the Bears' Off season this year and really, their Off seasons for the past 3 years. It all started when they traded away the 2022 NFL Draft #1 pick to the Panthers. From just that trade, the Bears would get Caleb Williams, DJ Moore, Tyrique Stevenson and 2nd-round rookie Luther Burden. They would also build a particularly strong O-line capped off by 3 additions this Off season including Joe Thuney. They would also go on to double-down on offense by drafting two incredible playmakers in Luther Burden II and Colston Loveland who, (I can't stress this enough) will be the future of this offense.
The cherry on top was the hiring of new Head Coach Ben Johnson who has thought to be the best offensive mind in the league for a few years now. All this came together for this upcoming 2025 season where the Bears have a legitimate chance to have the best offense in the league.
Are they a perfect roster? Absolutely not, they have a lot to do for their pass rush, they need a new running back and their O-line, (while very well rebuilt) is still unproven. Will they have their best season in almost 10 years? Quite possibly, so let's take a look at how their 2025 might go, game-by-game.
_______________________________
Week 1: vs Vikings (MNF)
Starting off at home and on Monday Night, the Bears meet their NFC North rival Vikings for what should be an offensive fight. I believe whole-hartedly that Justin Jefferson can drag an MVP-season out of any Quarterback and thus J.J. McCarthy will have a great year but it may take him a few games to get into rhythm. In the mean time, the Bears hit the ground running.
Prediction: Bears 35-31
_______________________________
Week 2: @ Lions
In another NFC North showdown this time against the reigning champs, the Bears have a great shot thanks to the Lions' D losing Aaron Glenn. Unfortunately, they still have a great offense and their secondary is good enough to bend but not break and probably get a turnover to end with the home win.
Prediction: Lions 37-31
_______________________________
Week 3: vs Cowboys
Two great offensive teams battling in Chicago should see an exciting shootout that's probably won at the very end. With the Bears secondary holding that ever-important decider in Jaylon Johnson, I see Dak throwing a pick late and giving the game to the Bears.
Prediction: Bears 31-27
_______________________________
Week 4: @ Raiders
After the surprising release of Christian Wilkins, the Raiders don't have the defense to make a difference in this game. What they do have is an offense that could really take advantage of the Bears' Front-7. This game is close throughout but eventually, Caleb is too good and outduels Geno Smith in Vegas.
Prediction: Bears 31-24
_______________________________
Week 5: BYE Week
No team ever wants an early-season BYE and Week 5 is as early as they get. With a 3-1 record it's fair to say the Bears are ecstatic with the beginning of their season and especially their offense. Besides Jaylon Johnson, the defense hasn't done anything good and they will be the focal point of the week and the next part of their season.
_______________________________
Week 6: @ Commanders (MNF)
Last season, this matchup was probably the most exciting finish of the year and I can see that repeating this year... just differently; This will be the highest scoring game of the season. Caleb and Jayden battle to the very last minute in a game that sees... maybe 10 touchdowns including a last-second game-winner again... from Jayden Daniels.
Prediction: Commanders 44-42
_______________________________
Week 7: vs Saints
The Saints could have a good defense this season but that won't save them from a troubled year especially against an offense like Chicago. In the defenses' best showing of the year so far, the Bears aren't challenged too much in this one.
Prediction: Bears 27-17
_______________________________
Week 8: @ Ravens
Fireworks is the best way to describe this matchup. Unfortunately with the Ravens' secondary being so much better this season and this game being in Baltimore, this one will go to the Ravens but not before Caleb and Ben give them one heck of a battle.
Prediction: Ravens 31-30
_______________________________
Week 9: @ Bengals
This game could be another offensive shootout but I actually see this going in a slightly different way. If Jaylon can hold off Ja'Marr Chase even a little, I can see Caleb throwing the ball at will against a poor Bengals' defense and keeping this game out of reach.
Prediction: Bears 42-30
_______________________________
Week 10: vs Giants
After back-to-back matchups vs the Ravens and Bengals, you may think the Giants are afterthoughts but that may be the Bears' downfall. The Giants have a LEGIT defense this year especially in their secondary and I actually think it will be good enough to win this one.
Prediction: Giants 27-21
_______________________________
Week 11: @ Vikings
After beating the Vikings at home earlier this year, Minnesota will welcome the Bears with vengeance. A decent roster with a hole in their secondary, this divisional clash is a breaking point in the Vikings' season and the desperate nature of their play will lead them to a shock win.
Prediction: Vikings 28-24
_______________________________
Week 12: vs Steelers
The Bears are right in the middle of one of the toughest stretches of any single team's schedule this season, the Bears have the Steelers come to town for a doozie of a game. The Steelers offense may have question marks but their defense sure doesn't and it will hold the Bears just enough to sneak out the victory.
Prediction: Steelers 24-23
_______________________________
Week 13: @ Eagles (FNF)
Another rough matchup and this one in Philly, the Friday Night after Thanksgiving will see another game of the year contender. Battling a strong defense with a young secondary, the Bears put up a lot of points in this one but their defense can't hold their own and lose this heartbreaker at the very last minute.
Prediction: Eagles 38-35
_______________________________
Week 14: @ Packers
On a 4-game losing streak, the greatest rivalry in the sport will see it's first matchup in Green Bay. The Packers' secondary is ripe for the picking for the Bears but the nature of this rivalry means that it is a slugfest that comes down to coaching. While Ben Johnson has a bright future, LaFleur will have his number especially in a home game.
Prediction: Packers 23-20
_______________________________
Week 15: vs Browns
The Bears have gotten to the brink of missing another playoffs with a 5-8 record but have a favorable matchup at home here. Cleveland's defense is still pretty good however and will keep this game interesting but at home in Chicago, the Bears will overpower the Browns to snap the losing streak.
Prediction: Bears 28-17
_______________________________
Week 16: vs Packers
Staying at home with some momentum, the Bears are still reeling over their loss in Green Bay and take out ALL of their frustrations in this rematch. The Packers were able to limit their shortcomings in the secondary last time but are exposed this time around in a big way.
Prediction: Bears 41-28
_______________________________
Week 17: @ 49ers
At 7-8, there's technically still a chance both teams are playing for playoff seeding at this point which makes this one a HUGE game. Traveling all the way to the West Coast, the Bears will meet a 49ers team with a roster that is a great matchup for them. A team that's weak against the pass rush and against a good receiving core, the Bears use their momentum to take the upset win.
Prediction: Bears 34-30
_______________________________
Week 18: vs Lions (TBD)
At 8-8 I'm not sure if the Bears will be playing for the 7-seed but the Lions will definitely be playing for the NFC North title. For one last time in the season, and to upset their biggest contender in the division, the Bears take it to the Lions and end their season in a big way and make their future even brighter.
Prediction: Bears 42-37
_______________________________

The Bears finish this exercise with a 9-8 record including going 6-2 at Solider Field and 3-3 in the NFC North division.
The Bears undoing for this season will be a particularly tough stretch in the season between weeks 8-14. They could feasibly get some wins but I have them on a 5-game skid in this exercise that derails their playoff hopes. What does happen is a shining example of the roster they've built as they ride their dynamic offense to a 4-game win streak to end the season over .500 for the first time since 2018.
The Bears rise this year and subsequent success with ben Johnson should look eerily like the Lions' rise over the past 4 years. With a remarkably similar roster, the Bears will start building on defense as the Lions did from 2022-24 and if done correctly, I see no reason why this year won't be the catalyst to the next Bears' dynasty.
