Team Overview

The Bills have been the most consistent team of the last 5 seasons with win totals between 11-13 every year. Josh Allen is fresh off his MVP award and the team as a whole may have gotten even better since last season.

The Bills lost Von Miller and Kaiir Elam on the defense and Mack Hollins on the offense. While these losses are not very significant, the Bills still went out of their way to reload and get better at each position. Signing Joey Bosa to bolster their pass rush, Joshua Palmer to add another good deep threat after the Hollins departure, and bringing back Tre White for a great depth piece at Cornerback. They would also bring Kendrick Green and Larry Ogunjobi for strong depth in their offensive and defensive line.

The Bills also have several young players expected to make jumps of improvement for the 2025 season. Players like Keon Coleman, Dalton Kincaid, Cole Bishop and rookie Maxwell Hairston will all get significant snaps while under the age of 25.

After a 13-4 season, the Bills are looking to improve and get that coveted #1 seed and first-round BYE that Josh Allen has never achieved. The Bills have a great chance to do so this season even though the AFC East looks like it may be the best we've seen since Tom Brady's last season in New England. Could they achieve the #1 seed? Let's see how many wins they could get, game-by-game.

Week 1: vs Ravens (SNF)

Starting the year off right with a Sunday Night Football meeting between the Ravens and Bills. A future AFC Championship matchup, the Bills have home field advantage but this game may come down to whoever has the ball last. The Ravens roster especially on offense, may be just a bit more explosive.

Prediction: Ravens 31-27

Week 2: @ Jets

After losing Week 1 at home, the Bills travel to New York for their division opener of the season. With recent news that Justin Fields may be out for a few weeks to start the season breaking, this game would have probably gone to the Bills anyway.

Prediction: Bills 28-17

Week 3: vs Dolphins (TNF)

On a short week, the Bills are back at home and needing to stop the Dolphins. The Dolphins will look to make this one a shootout but with the Bills' defense being as good as they are, the Dolphins' defense will need to hold the Bills as well and I just don't think they can in Buffalo.

Prediction: Bills 31-24

Week 4: vs Saints

After 3 highly-competitive games to start the season, this will be the first mismatch on the Bills' schedule. The Saints have the ability to really compete tin the trenches even with Buffalo, but they are outmatched and will show it in the second half.

Prediction: 24-13

Week 5: vs Patriots (SNF)

A much better Patriots roster than the Bills have seen over the last few years will come to Buffalo for the Bills' 3rd primetime game already. The Patriots defense will handle the Bills surprisingly well but I see a late-game turnover being in favor of the home team.

Prediction: Bills 28-22

___________________________________

Week 6: @ Falcons (MNF)

Another primetime game, (4 in 6 weeks) and the Bills will actually have to travel all the way to Atlanta for this one. I'm already on the fence about Michael Penix this season but I think it's fair to say the Bills overwhelm him on his first Monday Night game. The Falcons defense will do a good job in this one but not good enough.

Prediction: Bills 21-14

Week 7: BYE Week

After losing their first game, the Bills enter their BYE Week on a 5-game win streak. Getting their momentum at this point is crucial as after this BYE and really starting in Week 9, the Bills have a heck of a schedule in front of them.

Week 8: @ Panthers

A matchup in Carolina can't be looked over either. The Bills get the benefit of a BYE Week for this one and if they can game plan to hold off Bryce Young, they should escape this one without too much of a scare.

Prediction: 26-20

___________________________________

Week 9: vs Chiefs

Starting 2 months of an insane part of their schedule will be the best rivalry in the sport over the last 5 years. Allen vs Mahomes almost always comes down to who has the ball last and with this one in Buffalo, I'll take the Bills. Also I'm not sure if this is a hot take... but I'm going to say the Bills' offense is better this season on paper.

Prediction: Bills 24-21

___________________________________

Week 10: @ Dolphins

Riding a 7-game win streak, the Bills have to fly down to Miami already beating the Dolphins in Week 3. The Dolphins' offense is seriously talented when healthy and I can actually see them giving the Bills a real test. If their young secondary can show up in this one, I like the upset.

Prediction: Dolphins 28-27

___________________________________

Week 11: vs Buccaneers

From one Florida team to another, the Buccaneers have to come up to Buffalo for this one and are on as good of a role as the Bills at this point. The best pass game the Bills have faced so far this season, the Buccs can really take advantage and overwhelm their secondary.

Prediction: Buccaneers 33-31

___________________________________

Week 12: @ Texans (TNF)

Another short notice fight along with a long road trip, the Bills are in serious jeopardy of a 3-game losing streak. The Bills' kryptonite this season are teams with good secondaries and the Texans have some very good pieces to combat the Bills' offense. Unfortunately for the Texans, they are mismatched at both sides of the line of scrimmage in this one.

Prediction: Bills 24-17

___________________________________

Week 13: @ Steelers

The Steelers' defense is always good but it looks to be even better this year than years past. This game will be a classic between two very-well coached and very strong defensive teams and the home field advantage might be the only separator.

Prediction: Steelers 24-20

___________________________________

Week 14: vs Bengals

Fun fact; Joe Burrow is 2-0 against Josh Allen and the Bills since he was drafted. The Bengals have the pass game to really test the Bills' secondary even in Buffalo. The problem is, they have a Bottom-10 defense in the league. I'd favor the Bengals in most shootouts they could be in this season, but not in Buffalo.

Prediction: Bills 38-34

___________________________________

Week 15: @ Patriots

A huge matchup for AFC East fans, this game will be a defensive showcase. With Drake Maye and the Patriots roster having a lot more experience than the Week 5 matchup, they could lead this game up until the very end where Josh Allen takes over like an MVP should.

Prediction: Bills 27-24

___________________________________

Week 16: @ Browns

The final away game of their regular season, this game feels like a gritty, low-scoring battle. While the Browns' defense could keep Allen on his toes, I can't see the Browns putting up enough points to stand a chance here.

Prediction: Bills 21-10

___________________________________

Week 17: vs Eagles

The Eagles and Bills are both fighting for #1 seeds and will be the center of attention in Week 17. The Bills defense is really firing on all cylinders at this point and for that reason, I believe they outlast the Eagles in a tough war that starts from the trenches.

Prediction: Prediction: Bills 27-24

Week 18: vs Jets (TBD)

This matchup is intriguing to me. On one hand, the Bills are most definitely fighting for playoff seeding at this point. On the other, the Jets' roster could really start clicking by the end of the season especially their defense. No matter how much I want to pull the trigger, I don't think I realistically pick against the Bills here especially in the final regular season game at Highmark Stadium.

Prediction: Bills 23-21

___________________________________

The Bills end this exercise with a 13-4 record including a 7-2 record in their final season at Highmark Stadium. They also have a 5-1 record within the AFC East.

The Bills match their record from 2024 and have 2 huge win streaks of 7 and 5 during their season. Giving up 21 or fewer points 9 times this season, the Bills' defense has been remarkable and the focal point of this great team.

In my team predictions I've done so far, the Bills are tied with the Chiefs for the #1 seed with the Ravens close behind at 12-5. Thanks to their Week 9 win, I predict the Bills to finally get the #1 seed and first round BYE in the playoffs. Will this translate to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1994? No matter how good this team is including one of the best QBs and Head Coaches in the league, I feel like they are one piece away from getting to the big game still.
