Team Overview

The Giants went 3-14 last year and are somewhere in the middle of trying to still win with their roster and a complete rebuild. Brian Daboll will be fighting for his job this season but he also drafted a Quarterback they think they can build around in Jaxson Dart. With Russ and Jameis also on the roster, it's likely Dart will be redshirted as the Giants try to get every win they possibly can this year.

In the post-Daniel Jones era, the offense has some potential with a good O-line on paper and two young playmakers in Malik Nabers and Tyrone Tracy looking very bright.

The past two offseasons also showed the Giants priority to build the defense and they've actually done a great job. Their secondary has a legit chance to be elite, their pass rush could be great too behind Brian Burns and rookie Abdul Carter not to mention Kayvon Thibodeaux. All with Bobby Okereke and Dexter Lawrence holding down the middle.

This team may need to fire the coach to really make a culture change but there's NO QUESTION that the roster is coming along. We'll see how far that can really take them though, in a breakdown of their 2025 season... one game at a time.

Prediction:

Week 1: @ Commanders

For their first game the Giants host an expected Super Bowl contender that I believe will disappoint this year. Jayden Daniels should have a down season compared to last year and the Giants' D won't make it any easier on him. A little magic from Malik Nabers and I will take the upset here.

Prediction: Giants 24-17

Week 2: @ Cowboys

The Cowboys are a different story and should also be a good defensive team this season. Couple that with the Giants terrible record in Dallas as of late and you have an easy win for America's Team.

Prediction: Cowboys 24-20

Week 3: vs Chiefs (SNF)

Another very tough game for the Giants season opener and in primetime. The Chiefs' defense will be elite again this year and way too much of a challenge for the young Giants' core. A slow-slug fest should ensue and I have to give it to the Chiefs.

Prediction: Chiefs 24-13

Week 4: vs Chargers

Another home game and an equally tough team comes to town in the Chargers. The Chargers have a hard nose trenches-built team this year but their secondary could really give the Giants a chance in this one. A low-scoring affair may come down to turnovers so I have to JUST BARELY give this to the Chargers.

Prediction: Chargers 14-10

Week 5: @ Saints

The Saints might have the worst roster in the league last year but what they do have is the Giants' kryptonite. A good o-line and a burgeoning secondary, the Giants will have a difficult time especially down in New Orleans. The Giants will eventually outscore them but this one will be ugly.

Prediction: Giants 24-16

Week 6: vs Eagles (TNF)

The Giants have one of the toughest HOME schedules in the league this year and this will be the toughest of the all. On short notice after a road game against the defending champs and division rival, there's almost no chance the G-men get a win here.

Prediction: Eagles 31-14

___________________________________

Week 7: @ Broncos

Another tough game in a particularly difficult portion of their schedule, the Broncos roster won't give too much of a chance to the Giants either. Slowing down the Broncos defense will probably be in the cards, but so could the Giants legitimately being shut out.

Prediction: Broncos 21-7

___________________________________

Week 8: @ Eagles

From bad to worse, now the Giants have to add a rabid Philadelphia crowd to an already daunting task. Bet the house on Green here.

Prediction: Eagles 28-10

___________________________________

Week 9: vs 49ers

The 49ers come to town and with their rebuilding roster this is definitely a winnable game. Unfortunately, coaching will win out in this one and this is my pick for Brian Daboll's last game as a Giant.

Prediction: 49ers 27-17

___________________________________

Week 10: @ Bears

Ok hear me out, not only do teams with a new interim head coach do very well their first week, (there's definitely a statistic to back that up somewhere) but the Giants' defense could really hold the Bears pass game. I'll take the upset here.

Prediction:

___________________________________

Week 11: vs Packers

The Packers coming into New York have a more well-rounded roster but also have room for Malik Nabers to wreck havoc in the secondary. Unfortunately, coaching once again will win and LaFleur and Love will take this one probably right at the very end.

Prediction: Packers 17-14

___________________________________

Week 12: @ Lions

For their 3rd game in a row against the stacked NFC North, a road trip to Detroit is an interesting one for the Giants. With a legitimate shot to hold the Lions in check, if they are with a new interim head coach here, it's likely Dan Campbell takes advantage.

Prediction: 24-21

___________________________________

Week 13: @ Patriots (MNF)

These are from your Father's Patriots and Giants. Both teams have been toward the bottom for years but the Patriots are at least one year ahead in their rebuild. In New England, Drake Maye and Mike Vrabel will be very ready.

Prediction: Patriots 30-17

___________________________________

Week 14: BYE Week

The Giants enter their late BYE Week at 3-10 with an interim Head Coach and have been eliminated from the playoffs. At this point, it would make sense that both Russ and Jameis have had plenty of starts and it may be time to get the rookie in the starting lineup. With the defense still very good, the rest of the season will be about seeing what you have in Jaxson Dart.

Week 15: vs Commanders

After an early season upset at the hands of the Giants, the Commanders are now hunting for a playoff spot and not even the Meadowlands can save them here.

Prediction: Commanders 28-20

___________________________________

Week 16: vs Vikings

After a tough first game for Dart, the Vikings are a great matchup for him and the team. By this point, McCarthy and Jefferson will have a repour but the Giants defense should be able to contain them. If Dart and Nabers have something going, this could be the game that the rookie outduels his opposition for the win.

Prediction: Giants 28-27

___________________________________

Week 17: @ Raiders (TBD)

After a big win at home, the Giants will need to do more of the same against the Raiders. I'm not really sure where the Raiders will be at this point in the season but with the Giants getting some momentum behind Jaxson Dart, I'll take the road win here.

Prediction: Giants 24-21

___________________________________

Week 18: vs Cowboys (TBD)

The last game of the season will be back at home but with the Cowboys fighting for a playoff spot, they will be hard to beat.

Prediction: Cowboys 34-17

The Giants end this exercise at 5-12 with a 1-7 record at home and a 1-5 record in the division.

The Giants have a disappointing season and a fired head coach, but it wasn't entirely a bad season. First of all, their schedule is brutal and especially brutal for a below-average team. They were able to take advantage of teams depending on their pass game with a great defense and they got some momentum to carry into the next season behind rookie QB Jaxson Dart.

The team will be in a very similar spot to the Patriots this offseason and I really think they have a bright future. With their defense among the Top-10 and a very good young QB-WR duo and potentially a great o-line as well, 2026 might be the best Giants team we've seen since their last two Super Bowls.
