Team Overview

The Jaguars have a very interesting season ahead of them all stemming from an off season where their offensive completely changed. Hiring Liam Coen is a terrific fit and should give Trevor Lawrence a new offensive outlook from the former Buccaneers OC. Coen will be Lawrence's 6th Head Coach in as many seasons but also has the best offensive mind of all of them.
The Jaguars wouldn't stop at just coaches though, bringing in top prospect Travis Hunter in the draft along with a very good draft class behind him including 2 good O-line prospects, another RB and an experienced MLB. In Free Agency they would also add to their O-line with Hainsey and Mekari while adding DBs in Lewis Murray and Ransaw too.
The team has a LOT of new youth and potential to add to their already young roster. Players like Josh Hines-Allen, Travon Walker and Brian Thomas Jr. are still younger than 26 but will hold more of veteran roles due to the influx of young talent over the past few years.
Their defense is credited with a great front-7 headlined by a good pass rush. They also have a lot of good secondary pieces including Travis Hunter. Their offense should finally hit their potential with Trevor Lawrence now that Liam Coen has come aboard and has brought a lot of new weapons. Will they hit that potential this season or further in the future? Let's find out, game-by-game.

Week 1: vs Panthers
To start their season the Jags get to open up at home against a Panthers team that has a lot to prove. The Panthers should be farther along in their rebuild but somehow aren't and with Bryce Young being even more unpredictable then T-Law, give me the Jags here.
Prediction: Jaguars 22-17

Week 2: @ Bengals
The Jaguars looked decent in Week 1 but they will need to ball out as they head to Cincinnati. The pass rush will be the biggest thing for the Jags cause if they can't make Burrow uncomfortable, they'll end up loosing a shootout to the superior Bengals' offense.
Prediction: Bengals 37-31

Week 3: vs Texans
First divisional game and it's likely between the two teams ready to fight for the division. I like the Jaguars defense at this point and as long as T Law can get the ball to BTJ and Hunter, the Jags should be able to outduel the Texans at home.
Prediction: Jaguars 24-21

Week 4: @ 49ers
A LONG travel to the Bay Area won't make this game any easier for the Jags. The 9ers should have a dynamic offense and a good enough O-line that they can fulfill it. I think Coen could be a great coach, but for now he's no match for Shanahan.
Prediction: 49ers 23-17

Week 5: vs Chiefs (MNF)
A rare prime time road trip for the Chiefs this season sees the Jags have a little advantage as they try to put up points quick. The Jaguars defense is good but are built for for passing offenses and I can see the Chiefs slowing the tempo and beating them at the very end.
Prediction: Chiefs 28-24
___________________________________
Week 6: vs Seahawks
This game will be the breakout game for the Jags defense. Sam Darnold and the Seahawks will really try and throw the ball here but I think the Jags could take advantage of Darnold's arm and even grab some picks here. The Jags might need to lean on their run here but should come out with a win either way.
Prediction: Jaguars 27-20

Week 7: vs Rams (NFL Europe Game)
The Jaguars have only one game in London this season but will still have as big of a home field advantage as any of their priors. The biggest team in London, no other team has the record or the familiarity of London as Jacksonville and that will be the difference.
Prediction: Jaguars 24-17

Week 8: BYE Week
At 3-3 in their BYE Week, the Jags get a big rest after coming back from England. With several big road trips in the second half of their season, the Jags will be looking to improve on their 0-2 away record. With the defense playing very well, it's up to Coen's offense and Trevor Lawrence to start living up to their names.
___________________________________
Week 9: @ Raiders
A big game here right out of their BYE Week and the Raiders run game may be the best the Jags face all season. In a game where both teams might show off a run attack with the Jags dipping into their trio of runners, I like the Raiders game a bit more especially in Vegas.
Prediction: Raiders 35-31
___________________________________
Week 10: @ Texans
After taking the first matchup at home, the Jags will be confident against a Texans team currently in the lead of the AFC South. I believe both teams are on opposite end of momentum unfortunately for the Jags, and their recent streak and home field advantage should give this one to the Texans.
Prediction: Texans 24-21
___________________________________
Week 11: vs Chargers
After a two-game loss streak, a big time home game is crucial for the Jags. The Chargers are a good squad but with Slater out, could be slim pickings for the Jags' pass rush. In a game where finally their offense clicks and they get help from the defense, the Jaguars win in dominant fashion.
Prediction: Jaguars 34-26
___________________________________
Week 12: @ Cardinals
A very good matchup between two playoff hopefuls, the Cardinals are just a season ahead of the Jaguars in terms of building around their Quarterback and again on a road trip, the Jags loose this one in heartbreaking fashion but to a team that is genuinely better.
Prediction: Cardinals 21-20
___________________________________
Week 13: @ Titans
The first matchup versus the lowly Titans and the Jags are salivating to get this W. Unfortunately their road trip blues continues as the Titans' defense is actually stifling for a team like the Jags. As long as Cam Ward doesn't turn the ball over too much, this upset brings the Jags' season to its' knees.
Prediction: Titans
___________________________________
Week 14: vs Colts
Now at 5-7, the Jaguars are back at home and if you know anything about the history of Colts @ Jaguars, you can guess this outcome. Winners of 10 in a row in Jacksonville, the Colts would have already been in a whole with Daniel Jones likely falling apart at this point in the season.
Prediction: Jaguars 31-23
___________________________________
Week 15: vs Jets
Another home game and I actually like the Jags to really shut down the Jets offense. Justin Fields is bound to throw some picks this year and against the pass rush and speedy secondary this could be a huge example.
Prediction: Jaguars 30-21
___________________________________
Week 16: @ Broncos
Already weak on the road, the Jaguars have to travel to Mile High where the Broncos have been lights out this season. Making things very interesting, the Jaguars' offense isn't elite but they are smart and are able to put up points while keeping the ball. Alas, the Broncos have the edge and I believe win this one in the last few seconds.
Prediction: Broncos 21-20
___________________________________
Week 17: @ Colts
With two weeks to go, the Jags and Texans are 7-8 and the Colts are 6-9, what a great division... With the season on the line and the game in Indy, I believe the Colts run game could seriously poke holes into the Jags' defense and ride their defense to a huge win to SOMEHOW keep playoff hopes alive.
(P.S. after this game, all three teams are 7-9.)
Prediction: Colts 23-21

Week 18: vs Titans
Back at home with the season on the line against a team fighting for the #1 pick, the Jags have this in the bag. After being worked by the #1 pick last time around, the Jags have a great game and expose the young Titan. Unfortunately the Texans win their game against the Colts and have the tiebreaker, sending the Jaguars home just shot of making the playoffs.
Prediction: Jaguars 31-17
___________________________________
The Jaguars end this exercise with an 8-9 record including a 7-1 home record and a 3-3 record in the AFC South.
A 7-1 home record is tied for the best among the league in 2025 but a 1-7 away record is the worst. A surprising feat to me as I made the list, some of the reason for it is the travel necessary for any team in a corner of the country but also the opponents they face like the Broncos and Bengals.
The Jaguars first season with Liam Coen was pretty good, just barely missing the playoffs and being very competitive in the division. A small worry about Trevor Lawrence once again not taking a step to being elite will be covered by the "let's see what he can do with another offseason" talks. Young players like Bhayshul Tuten and Travis Hunter made their marks on offense while Walker, Hines-Allen and Campbell once again had very good years for the defense. Ultimately it's too early to judge but after another mid year, T Law may be on his last legs in Jacksonville.
