Team Overview

The Rams seem to be on the last legs of their Super Bowl window that opened with their Super Bowl win in 2022. Sean McVay has proven time after time what an offensive genius he is and Matthew Stafford has been the perfect catalyst for him no matter his age.

The difference between the '22 Rams and the 2025-26 Rams is an influx of youth and some veteran rentals. The biggest change for this season is the releasing of team legend Cooper Kupp and subsequent signing of Davante Adams. The former Triple-Crown winner will be replicated with phenom Puka Nacua in the slot with Adams taking a boundary-receiver role Stafford hasn't had since Megatron in Detroit.

The defense has been rejuvenated with their draft class last season including the DROY Jared Verse and 3rd-place voted Braden Fiske. Really, the last two draft classes have played an integral role in the defense specifically. Besides Verse and Fiske, Kamren Kinchens has become a starting Safety and in the 2023 draft, the Rams replaced Aaron Donald with Kobie Turner and Byron Young.

The team from top to bottom is one of the better rosters in the league but has one big question mark to it in my eyes... how much more does Stafford have? Turning 38 the day before Super Bowl 60, Stafford took a step down last season but still has Top-10 QB potential. This roster was built around Stafford's gunslinger play and they will live and die by that sword. Let's see if they can pull off another magical run in their 2025 season, game-by-game.

Week 1: vs Texans

The Rams season is going to come down to this, does the opposing team have a defense suited to stop the Rams? The Texans specifically have Derek Stingley but not much more to slow down the Rams deadly pass game and they will loose because of it.

Prediction: Rams 27-21

Week 2: @ Titans Another big part of their season will be the always difficult travel schedule for every West Coast team. The Titans are not a good roster but hosting the Rams across the country will make this game closer than it should be.

Prediction: Rams 26-24

___________________________________

Week 3: @ Eagles

The first huge test of the season will happen in a long road trip to the defending champions in Philly. The Eagles defense is MOSTLY elite but some question whether their new member sin it's secondary can carry on the team's tradition. With DeJean and Mitchell tasked with stopping Adams and Nacua, the rest of the Eagles defense steps up and does just enough.

Prediction: Eagles 28-24

Week 4: vs Colts

After losing a heartbreaker in Philly, the Rams are back at home with a fraudulent Colts visiting. Even if the Colts' Quarterback (whoever that may be) plays his best game, the Rams have to good of a roster to lose at home to a team like them.

Prediction: Rams 33-27

___________________________________

Week 5: vs 49ers (TNF)

A very late division opener, the Rams will host the 49ers and get their first glimpse at their rebuilt roster. The 49ers lost a lot of players on defense and in their O-line this off season and that will be too much when faced with stopping Stafford and company.

Prediction: Rams 34-26

___________________________________

Week 6: @ Ravens

A second chance at a marquee matchup after the Eagles loss and the Rams will have to travel even farther to Baltimore. The Ravens roster is even better than Philly's but I just have a feeling that with as much momentum as they have at this point, the Rams will play their best game of the season and escape with a win.

Prediction: Rams 27-24

___________________________________

Week 7: vs Jaguars (NFL Europe Game)

The Jaguars have low-key built a very talented defense and now have Liam Coen as Head Coach to hopefully build their offense as well. As far as their defense is concerned, the secondary and pass rush should be vicious enough to finally blanket the Rams.

Prediction: Jaguars 24-17

Week 8: BYE Week

The Rams have gotten off to a very hot start even after the tough loss in Jacksonville. At 5-2, the Rams have the exact team we thought they would, an over-powering offense that needs to go off to hide their mediocre defense; the pass rush for the Rams is good but their secondary and run defense need improvement. With a tough road ahead in the second half, including 5 divisional games and 6 road games, they will need to step up.

___________________________________

Week 9: @ Saints

The Saints will have a tough time in 2025 but the two parts of their game that are good are perfect foils for the Rams. Their secondary is legit and their O-line could definitely hold their own against a pass rush. With the game happening in New Orleans, this game is a wake up call to the Rams.

Prediction: Saints 20-17

___________________________________

Week 10: @ 49ers

With a 4th road game in a row happening in San Francisco, the Rams need to get a W here to keep their playoff hopes alive. Thankfully they'll once again be facing the 49ers' secondary.

Prediction: Rams 30-23

___________________________________

Week 11: vs Seahawks

Back at home and the new look Seahawks come to town in a very interesting matchup between two teams gunning for their division title. The Seahawks have a great defense that could absolutely stop the Rams but back in LA, the Rams will put up too many points for the Seahawks to cover.

Prediction: Rams 31-23

___________________________________

Week 12: vs Buccaneers (SNF)

If you've seen my 2025 Season Awards or Buccaneers Predictions article, you'll know i've3 picked the Buccs to have the best offense of the year. In a matchup in LA between two massive offenses, anything can happen. I have to take the Buccs here though for the simple fact that the Rams won't be able to cover their receivers.

Prediction: Buccaneers 37-35

___________________________________

Week 13: @ Panthers

This one is in the mold of several other games where the Rams go on a long road trip to an underrated team and come up just short. The Panthers will have a bad season but Bryce Young has some potential and against a tired Rams's defense it will shine.

Prediction: Panthers 28-27

___________________________________ Week 14: @ Cardinals

The first matchup with the Cardinals will be on the road and will be one of their closest of the season. The pass rush of the Rams could really disrupt Kyler Murray and vice versa, the Cardinals new front-7 will give the Rams fits. This game could come down to home field advantage and the Cardinals defense being just a touch better.

Prediction: Cardinals 23-20

___________________________________

Week 15: vs Lions

The Lions are a weird team this year because of their massive losses in the coaching department. On paper having as good of a roster as anyone, they will travel to LA and attempt to beat the Rams as they have the first two times Jared Goff and Matt Stafford have played their former teams. This time though, it will be Stafford with the last laugh.

Prediction: Rams 27-23

___________________________________

Week 16: @ Seahawks (TNF)

With the NFC West REALLY getting tight at this point, this matchup is incredibly important to both teams. In their first matchup, the Rams got the advantage from their home stadium and that won't save them this time. The Seahawks defense is too good and they will hold the Rams just enough for the W.

Prediction: Seahawks 27-24

___________________________________

Week 17: @ Falcons (MNF)

Now needing the next two wins to even make the playoffs, the Rams will be ready to flip a switch. Michael Penix has the potential to throw the ball all over the Rams in Atlanta but I believe the pass rush will be a LOT for him to overcome and I trust Matt Stafford to outduel him because of it.

Prediction: Rams 28-21

___________________________________

Week 18: vs Cardinals (TBD)

This game will decide who wins the division and who makes the Wild Card so the stakes haven't been higher. Thankfully for the Rams it will be back in LA and that may prove to be the difference. Stafford and McVay are ready to take advantage of this chance whether it be their last playoffs together or not and they step up and end the season with a bang to secure the Playoffs.

Prediction: Rams 31-28

The Rams end this exercise with a 10-7 record including a 6-2 record at home and a 4-2 record in the NFC West.

The Rams win the NFC West for the second time in a row and do it behind a great offense spear-headed by Davante Adams introduction. Along Puka, Kyren Williams and rookie Terrance Ferguson, Matt Stafford has his best season since his Super Bowl season in 2021. The defense takes a small step with their daunting pass rush but show weaknesses in their secondary that cost them several winnable games throughout the year.

With the offensive-heavy roster, they'll likely lose in the first or second round and be forced with a decision as to how they move forward. With the entire roster in the midst of a re-tooling EXCEPT for their 38-year old QB, the heir-apparent might be soon for LA.
