Team Overview

The rich get richer as the Ravens have a great offseason after their 12-5 AFC North winning season last year. Drafting Safety Malaki Starks and signing Jaire Alexander from the Packers, the Ravens already had the 2nd most sacks last season and now have one of the best secondaries too.

On offense, they signed DeAndre Hopkins as a veteran contributor but kept the rest of the squad the same. After last season, the 3rd-highest scoring offense and #1 offense in total yards didn't need to do much to improve. With Lamar Jackson coming off the best season of his multiple-MVP career, this team seemingly has all the momentum and no holes to stop it.

Week 1: @ BUF (SNF)

Well we didn't have to wait long for one of the games of the year. In a potential AFC Playoff game preview, the Ravens travel to Buffalo for the first Sunday Night Football game of the year. With the Bills roster seemingly still incomplete, I'll take the Ravens to win an early slugfest between two behemoths.

Prediction: Ravens 31-27

Week 2: vs CLE

In their home opener the Ravens will face AFC North foes the Browns. For an above average roster in Cleveland, their question marks at the Quarterback position would make any hope of equaling the Ravens far-fetched.

Prediction: Ravens 28-20

Week 3: vs DET (MNF)

Another banger on primetime, the Ravens stay at home as the Lions come to town. With the Lions' coaching taking a major hit after last season, it's unclear how high-powered their offense will be and coming up short against the Ravens seems likely.

Prediction: Ravens 26-23

Week 4: @ KC

The Ravens keep on rolling in a huge away game in Kansas City. The Chiefs defense should be among the best in the league again but after coming up a toe short last season, the Ravens get some revenge here.

Predictions: Ravens 31-23

Week 5: vs HOU

The Texans o-line might be a little better than it was last year but should still be outmatched by the sack-leaders of last season. Ravens extend their win streak to 5.

Predictions: Ravens 35-24

Week 6: vs LAR

In their 4th home game in the first 6 weeks, the Rams come to town and bring a high-powered offense with them. With 3 pro bowl-level DBs on the team, the Ravens cant mitigate the strong pass game from the Rams but not shut it down. With the Rams front-7 being pretty solid, they escape with a win in Baltimore.

Prediction: Rams 27-24

Week 7: BYE Week

Entering their BYE after their only loss on the season, the Ravens are probably sitting as the best seed in the AFC. With 4 of their 9 home games out of the way, the Ravens have to gear up for a lot of road trips ahead.

Week 8: vs CHI

I predict the Bears make a huge leap and become one of the best offenses in the league. Again in Baltimore, this game comes down to the extra preparation the Ravens get from their BYE and narrowly win.

Prediction: Ravens 31-30

Week 9: @ MIA (TNF)

Their first road game in a month, the Ravens do so for a short notice TNF game. Against another high-powered offense in Miami, this game may come down to the team who has the ball last. Give me the Dolphins for the home field advantage on a Thursday.

Prediction: Dolphins 34-31

___________________________________

Week 10: @ MIN

The second game of a three-game road trip, the Ravens head to Minnesota to again, take on a high-powered offense. After being outdueled by the Dolphins, the Ravens secondary steps up their game and smothers the "rookie" Quarterback McCarthy.

Prediction: Ravens 28-17

Week 11: @ CLE

Finishing their road trip in Cleveland, the Ravens will be tested. After a lot of travel and the intensity of this divisional-game, both teams slug it out in a low-scoring, AFC North affair. The Ravens are such the better team though and show it with a win.

Prediction: Ravens 21-13

Week 12: vs NYJ

Back at home and the Jets pose an interesting threat to the Ravens. With a good defensive structure and a mobile QB that can escape pressure, look for this game to be a lot more competitive. Ultimately, we all know how this ends.

Prediction: Ravens 24-21

Week 13: vs CIN (Thanksgiving Game)

We've made it to Thanksgiving and the Ravens sit at 9-2 as they have their first matchup versus the Bengals. In another short-notice game, the loaded Baltimore secondary is just good enough to limit the Bengals in a shootout for the ages.

Prediction: Ravens 42-39

___________________________________

Week 14: vs PIT

The Steelers first matchup with the Ravens and the slugfest of this bitter rivalry will be on full display. After a well-coached and tough-nosed battle, the Ravens come out on top.

Prediction: Ravens 28-21

Week 15: @ CIN

After the Ravens won the first shootout at home, the Bengals are at home this time and come with their A-game. Another Burrow-Jackson battle ensues but this time, the Bengals D is good enough to barely leave this one with a dub.

Prediction: Bengals 35-30

___________________________________

Week 16: vs NE

Back at home where they are 7-1, the Ravens take on a Patriots team that has shown promise this season on both sides of the ball. Even with their secondary, the Patriots are able to score points but can't quite keep up with the Ravens in this one.

Prediction: Ravens 30-28

___________________________________

Week 17: @ GB (TBD)

12-3 and the #1 seed at this point, the Ravens travel to Green Bay while one win away from a guaranteed first-round bye in the playoffs. With playoff aspirations of their own, the Packers won't go down without a fight in my prediction... for the game of the year. In the Jaire Alexander-revenge game, the Packers win at the end with impressive offense.

Prediction: Packers 28-27

___________________________________

Week 18: @ PIT (TBD)

Needing a win to take the #1 seed from the Chiefs, the Ravens travel to Heinz Field to battle the Steelers whom they've already beaten. In another AFC North "heavyweight boxing match", the Steelers defense and ball security allow them to ink out the win.

Prediction: Steelers 21-17

The Ravens hold a record of 12-5 with a 4-2 divisional record and a very impressive 8-1 home record.

The two-game skid to fall out of the first seed at the very end of the year is heartbreaking for the Ravens. After a 8-1 home record, its their 4-5 away record that costs them. With 3 of their 5 losses coming on road trips in the last 4 weeks of the season, the scheduling of multiple away games at the end of the season also hurts them.

This team is much better than a 12-5 record suggests and as a collective... and collectively pissed, I expect them to make a very strong playoff push and could even make their first Super Bowl with Lamar Jackson.
