Live from Fenway Park, Ace vs Ace matchup as Atlanta's Chris Sale will take the mound opposite Garrett Crochet at 7:10 ET.

Tonight's game in Boston will be Sale's first game back at Fenway since September 28, 2023. His history with Boston is well-documented, being over a season removed as the Red Sox Ace where he helped bring the team to their most recent World Series in 2018. After half a decade of injuries, Sale would then go on to pitch in 56 starts in the next 4 seasons, (or averaging 14 starts a season) while earning over $30 Million per year. The Red Sox would move on from his contract last year and trade Sale to the Braves where HILARIOUSLY, Sale would go on to earn another Cy Young award in his first year away from Boston.

This matchup at Fenway will not be Sale's first against his former team however. The Braves faced the Red Sox in a 3-game series last May and Sale would take the mound in the second game, pitching a very good outing.

With Sale no doubt expected to bring his A-game again, tonight's game will undoubtedly be a low-scoring pitching duel.

Opposite the mound from him tonight will be Garrett Crochet, the Red Sox new Ace and a player of the same mold as their last. Crochet is a tall lefty with high velocity who previously pitched on the White Sox, all traits eerily also belonging to Sale.

With how electric and impressive Crochet is pitching right now in his first year on the Red Sox, some can easily make the comparison between the two and even claim that Crochet is the 'Next Chris Sale'.

Crochet is in the middle of a Cy Young-type season and is currently 3rd in line for the award. Not having quite as good a season this year as last, Sale is also having a decent year and has really put it together over his last 5 games especially.

With VERY SIMILAR stats in both of their last 5 outings, its fair to say they are both playing some of their best baseball of the season and their war tonight should be a classic.
