The Patriots have now won 3 games in a row after their 25-19 road victory in New Orleans. With a 4-2 record, the Patriots are now right in the mix with the Bills for the AFC East crown depending on Buffalo's game tonight in Atlanta.

The game started off with bombs as both Chris Olave and Demario Douglas would haul in 50-yard passes in each team's first drives resulting in a 7-3 score. The scoring wouldn't end there though with a combined 5 drives to start the game ending in points. For the Patriots, two touchdown drives to start while the Saints would add 1 of their own and 2 field goals to make it 14-13 midway through the 2nd Quarter.

Both teams would add within the 2-minute warning with Blake Grupe making his 3rd field goal for the Saints and Kayshon Boutte bringing in his 2nd TD of the half and Drake Maye's 3rd, to leave the score at 22-16 at the half.

The second half would be a battle of defenses. The Patriots would have a 7 and a half-minute drive straight out of halftime that led to a field goal and would not score for the rest of the game. New Orleans would get another Touchdown later in the 4th but would be stalled for the rest of the game including giving up a crucial fumble with 8 minutes left.

The Patriots were the favorites in this game and while it was never truly as close as the score would lead on, they didn't do anything special on their way to winning. They really didn't have to though.

A huge point of contention for this team has been turnovers. Their battle with the Steelers earlier this year when 5 turnovers was the ONLY reason they lost has changed this team. Since then, the Patriots have only given up 1 turnover in 3 games, (a Rhamondre Stevenson fumble) and are 3-0 in that span.

Drake Maye has been particularly impressive. 6 Touchdowns, 0 turnovers and an average of 132.3 passer rating. Leading his team to a 4-2 record this early in the season is one thing but if you look at the schedule for the Patriots over the next 2 months you can see how his LEGITIMATE bid for an MVP is possible:

10/19 at Titans

10/26 vs Browns

11/2 vs Falcons

11/9 at Buccaneers

11/13 vs Jets

11/23 at Bengals

12/1 vs Giants

Those 7 teams have a combined 13-27 record on the year....
