1. Nationals
LHP Kade Anderson, LSU
6'2" 179 lbs.
21 years old
In a two-way race between Anderson and Holiday, the Nationals take the best pitcher in college Kade Anderson. With remarkable stuff in his breaking balls, the slender lefty had Tommy John 3 years ago and has gotten better ever since. His projection as a swing-and-miss specialist may not take long to see as he projects a short time to the MLB.
2. Angels
SS Ethan Holiday, Oklahoma HS
6'4" 210 lbs.
18 years old
Most would agree that the youngest son of Matt Holiday, Ethan is the best prospect in this class. A tall and powerful 18-year old, Holiday projects best to 3B in the pros with elite bat speed and a good arm as well. Mock drafts have him anywhere for 1-4 but I think the Angels would love to have Holiday hit the plate with Trout on deck.
3. Mariners
RHP Seth Hernandez, California HS
6'4" 190 lbs.
19 years old
Still in play for the #1 pick, Hernandez is one of the best High School righties in a very long time. With a perfect frame and a fastball that reaches 100, Hernandez' best skill is his work ethic. His improvements in control and his 3rd and 4th pitches have given him an even higher ceiling. Another Hernandez in Seattle.
4. Rockies
SS Eli Willits, Oklahoma HS
6'1" 180 lbs.
17 years old
Including Holiday and Willits, the amount of top-end SS in this class is DEEP. Willits is a switch-hitting contact hitter that may be the best in the whole draft at both qualities. His speed and defense are above average as well and if he grow some muscle in the future, Willits will be a legit 5-tool player.
5. Cardinals
SS Aiva Arquette, Oregon State
6'5" 220 lbs.
21 years old
At 6'5" and 220 lbs, Arquette's size fielding and projected power make him a true unicorn. His ceiling is as high as anyone's in the class but his floor is a bit lower as well.

6. Pirates
OF Ike Irish, Auburn
6'2" 201 lbs.
21 years old
One of the best bats out of college this year. The Pirates may go pitching but Irish's contact and power may be too strong for the Pirates to pass up especially with a weak outfield farm system.
7. Marlins
LHP Liam Doyle, Tennessee
6'2" 220
21 years old
A drop here for the college lefty stops at Miami. Doyle has maybe the best fastball in the class that sits around 100 mph and is complimented with a nasty splitter and changeup.
8. Blue Jays
SS Jojo Parker, Mississippi HS
6'2" 200 lbs.
18 years old
Another hitting SS but Parker's future seems destined for 2B. His pop off the barrel and contact-to-drive are very real for a high schooler and has shown improvement every year with lots of muscle to still be added to his frame.

9. Reds
LHP Jamie Arnold, Florida State
6'1" 188 lbs.
21 years old
One of the top prospects before the season started, Arnold falls because of a below-expected junior season at Florida State. With raw mechanics that have still showed an uptick in all 3 of his best pitches, Arnold has true #1 pick abilities and would be a steal at 9.
10. White Sox
OF Brendan Summerhill, Arizona
6'3" 200 lbs.
21 years old
Summerhill is one of the best all-around talents this year with great pop, an excellent knowledge of the strike zone and good fielding to round out. The 6'3" outfielder may have had some injuries last season but was well on his way to being one of the best hitters in college just beforehand.
11. Athletics
SS Billy Carlson, California HS
6'1" 185 lbs.
18 years old
Seth Hernandez's teammate, Carlson's best skill is his fielding work and arm from SS. His bat has come a long way too as he was able to consistently drive the ball this year and some scouts even have his speed projecting in the 90th percentile. A high-ceiling low floor prospect for sure.
12. Rangers
SS Steele Hall, Alabama HS
6'0" 180 lbs.
17 years old
Hall's athleticism and twitch separate him from most others in this class. With tremendous speed and plus-fielding, his ability at short is ahead of all but 2 other prospects. His bat still needs work but after he gained 15 pounds of muscle and really showed pop this last season, even that projects as above average as well.
13. Giants
RHP Kyson Witherspoon, Oklahoma
6'2" 206 lbs.
20 years old
Witherspoon's stuff is filthy, as he mixes 5 different pitches with great compliment. A high-power fastball is backed up with a perfect slider-cutter combo and this season's progress on his curveball and changeup will give him true swing-and-miss stuff in the future.
14. Rays
RHP Tyler Bremner, UC Santa Barbara
6'2" 190 lbs.
21 years old
A bit of a reach for most experts but I see the Rays falling in love with Bremner for his versatility and fit within the system. Bremner was a good starter this year but may have a better future as a long reliever and could be the perfect 'opener' in Tampa.

15. Red Sox
3B Gavin Fien, California HS
6'3" 200 lbs.
18 years old
With the closest resemblance to Rafi Devers in the class, Fien may project better as a 1B in the pros, but his raw power and plate knowledge are ahead of his time. The Red Sox could use pitching here but with a talent from the plate still available at 15, they might not be able to help themselves.
16. Twins
3B Josh Hammond, N. Carolina HS
6'1" 210 lbs.
18 years old
A great-mechanical guy, Hammond's past as a pitcher has given him a brilliant arm at 3B while drastic improvements in his bat speed have shown real potential from both sides of the plate. Hammond could go all over the first round due to his wide-ranging potential.
17. Cubs
SS Daniel Pierce, Georgia HS
6'0" 185 lbs.
18 years old
Another 'fall', Pierce showed great contact skills and athleticism in high school were matched with a rugged approach to games and practice. With a below-average power projection, Pierce may be a really solid leadoff due to his plate knowledge, speed and approach.
18. Diamondbacks
C Caden Bodine, Coastal Carolina
5'10" 200 lbs.
21 years old
The best of a bad-catcher class, Bodine's skills might not be worth a #18 pick but his positional prowess will shoot him up boards. A better hitting than catching Catcher, Bodine is a switch hitter who's old from both sides and his framing is far superior to his arm and athleticism.
19. Orioles
SS Gavin Kilen, Tennessee
5'11" 187 lbs.
21 years old
A true bat-to-ball hitter, Kilen's bat speed and work ethic have scouts sure he will keep improving an already great contact. He projects to 2B in the pros but has the chance to stay at Short as well. Not naturally athletic, Kilen seems to be more of a leader than a follower in the clubhouse.
20. Brewers
SS Wehiwa Aloy, Arkansas
6'2" 200 lbs.
21 years old
A bulky and athletic Shortstop, Aloy's prowess at the plate has potential to be scary if his SEC player of the Year award holds up. A good fielder, Aloy's potential as a 25-30 home run a year hitter will mask the slight contact short comings he has.
21. Astros
OF/C Jaden Fasuke, Illinois HS\
6'3" 200 lbs.
18 years old
Fasuke played his first two years of High School as a Catcher where he projects as the best of his class but seems "unwilling to play the role". Projecting to a corner outfielder in the pros, Fasuke has very good contact and above average speed and could make him one of the best utility men in this draft.
22. Braves
SS Kayson Cunningham, Texas HS
5'10" 182 lbs.
19 years old
Another player that is all over the first round, Cunningham's approach to the plate is one of the best in the class. With exceptional plate vision and above average contact he almost never strikes out and can be a real pest when he gets on the bases as well.
23. Royals
OF Jace LaViolette, Texas A&M
6'6" 230 lbs.
21 years old
At 6'6" and 230 lbs, LaViolette is the best athlete of the class not in the Top-7 picks. His speed and power are well above average but a below average approach at the plate means he will need time in the minors. A scary prospect if he does learn some discipline.
24. Tigers
OF Slater de Brun, Oregon HS
5'10" 187 lbs.
18 years old
de Brun is an excellent and very speedy outfielder who can cause havoc on the base paths. His small frame and average bat have him pushed to the back half of the First but his potential as a leadoff hitter and great fielder should keep him in the money round.
25. Padres
LHP Kruz Schoolcraft, Oregon HS
6'8" 229 lbs.
18 years old
The best example of 'high-potential-low-ceiling' in this draft, Schoolcraft's 6'8" frame and legit two-way ability have some scouts in awe. His proficiency from the mound is another thing; his fastball reaches 97 which is good but his stuff doesn't carry much spin yet. It's very possible Kruz misses the First round entirely but his potential is too good for me to pass on him.
26. Phillies
RHP Gage Wood, Arkansas
6'0" 205 lbs.
21 years old
A true fastball thrower at Arkansas, Wood missed some time in his only season as a starter due to injury. While scouts would have liked to see his durability, when he has been on the mound in relief he's been filthy.
27. Guardians
SS Marek Houston, Wake Forrest
6'3" 205 lbs.
21 years old
At our final spot in Round 1, Marek Houston gets the nod because of his fantastic size, athleticism and fielding at Short. His power for a 6'3"-200 pounder leaves room for improvement but a solid contact bat shows he still has potential to turn into a threat from the plate as well.
