Differences in

Zak's and AP's Polls

Indiana and Texas A&M

I have TAMU #3 and Indiana #4 while AP has the opposite. For me, these teams are as close as any other two in the nation but Texas A&M's D-line is the tiebreaker for me. I do love Indiana's ability to win big games and Kurt Cignetti but TAMU beats them out by inches for now.

Notre Dame

I said it last week but I never had Notre Dame as far down the list as AP does and this week they move up 2 sports in my poll to #10. AP still has them at #14 because of their 2 losses and I think that's terrible. Easily a Top-10 team and their matchup vs USC should prove that this week.

Texas

Texas only fell to #21 in my polls last week and after their dominant win vs Oklahoma, shoot back up to #14 for me as opposed to AP's placement of #19 for them. Texas' defense is elite and Arch Manning is pretty good... but when he's hot they are a legitimate Top-10 team who have ONLY lost on the road in 'The Swamp' and at Ohio State.

Utah

Another team I had ranked significantly higher last week than AP, Utah dismantled Arizona State this week and move up to #19 in my poll; 6 spots higher than AP's. To say that Utah should be below teams like Memphis, USF and Missouri is a BAD look for AP.

Missouri

I've been beating the "Missouri is overrated" drum for weeks now and I was proven right but wrong this week. Missouri stuck in with Alabama for most of the game but did lose when they had to pass the ball to win which has been their weakness all season. Missouri will travel for the FIRST TIME this season to Auburn and I believe lose again and prove to everyone I was right.

Illinois and Michigan

Even though they both lost, I still have Illinois and Michigan in my rankings at #20 and #22 respectively.

Illinois has lost to Indiana on the road and Ohio State who are both Top-4 teams. They have a great offense and one of the best QBs in the nation and shouldn't have two of the toughest matchups any team can play be the reason they're knocked out of the Top-25.

Michigan has had the HARDEST ROAD SCHEDULE of any team in the country so far this season. Losing at Oklahoma, winning at Nebraska (now a ranked team) and losing at USC is brutal. They're also 3-0 at home and their freshman QB will continue to get better.

USF and Memphis

USF and Memphis are right on the outskirts of my Top-25 poll but don't make the cut even if they're #20 and #21 in AP's Poll respectively.

USF had some decent wins at the beginning of the season that continue to become less impressive as the year goes on but don't have the resume to make my Top-25 even if they are technically my #26 team.

Memphis is 6-0 on the other hand but have had no difficult games this season. They are like Missouri without the South Carolina win. Their offense has been good this season and they've beaten teams by multiple scores but until they have a marquee win, they stay on the outside... for now.
