Biggest Differences of

AP and Zak's Polls

Notre Dame and Texas

The Associated Press is still criminally underrating a few teams and Notre Dame and Texas are the biggest examples. Notre Dame is clearly a Top-10 team and ranks #7 on my list but still #12 for AP. Their wins against USC, Boise State and Arkansas were definitive and their only losses are on the road in Miami and College Station. Texas fell off the list after a bad game in the Swamp but shouldn't be as low as #22 with their defense and roster. If you could tell me the AP's Top-21 teams could beat Texas in Neutral Site games then you are out of your mind.

Miami

As an admitted Hurricanes fan, their home loss against Louisville is a bigger deal than the AP have made it out to be. Miami has a great defense and Carson Beck had a Heisman-season until this week when he threw 4 interceptions but their beginning to look like home-merchants. The Canes have only had 1 away game and it was basically in their backyard at Tallahassee. The Hurricanes have also started ACC-play late and after barely escaping Florida State, they then lost to Louisville.

USF

I have to say I did call Memphis' fall from grace last week after an inflated win-loss from bad opponents and USF has now made the same list. Starting the season well with wins against Boise State and Florida, USF's best win since is North Texas. A matchup between the two teams this week in Memphis should really settle which team is for real after all.
