Oregon Drops in AP Poll?

After their Week 3 win at Northwestern by a score of 34-14, Oregon drops in the AP Poll from #4 to #6. I'm not sure if this was because of them not winning by enough or because of Georgia and Miami's more impressive wins but either way it doesn't make sense.

For most of the game Oregon shut out NW before the Wildcats scored 2 TDs in garbage time. Oregon continues to pound the rock and have one of the most impressive run game with the deepest Running Back depth in the country. Star QB Dante Moore threw his first interception of the year but otherwise still had a good game.

I still have Oregon at #4 for my list because I can't see any team giving them a real challenge until they go to Penn State in Week 5.

Notre Dame and Clemson Stay Ranked for Zak?

The AP Poll still has Notre Dame on their list but at #24. Controversially, I have 0-2 Notre Dame at #15 and 1-2 Clemson at #25. Let's start with Notre Dame...

Notre Dame is the first 0-2 team to be on the AP Poll in decades and for good reason. Their 2 losses are against Miami and Texas A&M who are now 5 and 10 respectively in their polls. Not only doo they have great losses but they have a great team and coaching, apparent from their National Championship appearance last season.

Clemson is more controversial but hear me out. Even though their offense is legitimately ranked 118th in points per game and QB Cade Klubnik looks unrecognizable, their still one of the best rosters in the sport. Clemson's loss to Georgia Tech is somewhere in the middle of a good and a bad loss but their Week 1 loss to #3 LSU is definitely a good one. Matchups with Syracuse and North Carolina in the next 3 weeks will show just how good Clemson can still be.

Florida St Should NOT be #7

Florida State moves up from #10 to #7 during their BYE week because of Notre Dame's loss and from the Alabama win. With Alabama getting a 2nd impressive win in a row, the Week 1 win looks even better.

In MY ranking they remained at #10 and from last week actually moved up from #14 in my Week 2 ranking. The BYE week was the biggest reason I can't put them any higher even though that Bama win does look even better now.

Oklahoma Should be Higher

Does anyone else have John Mateer as their Heisman favorite? Oklahoma is far from a one-man show but Mateer is doing his best to make them one. After beating Michigan soundly last week, Oklahoma rolled over Temple in Philadelphia by way of 42-3.

Now allowing an average of 6.33 points per game while scoring 33.6 per game, Oklahoma hasn't really been challenged at all this year while having the Heisman hopeful. Next week they will host Auburn then travel to Texas in Week 7 where they will likely find more of a closer game.
