Differences From
AP to Zak's Poll
Notre Dame
Another week of me pleading the case of Notre Dame being underappreciated and clearly being a Top-10 team. Rising from 8-to-7 in my poll and staying at #12 for the AP, Notre Dame's only losses are still to Top-10 teams and are now on a 5-game win streak.
Texas
Just like Notre Dame I have been trying to tell y'all that Texas is a top team... maybe not as high as the Irish but still. A close game comeback at Mississippi St won't help their case much but my #15 ranking compare to AP's #20 is much better for them. Texas still has an elite defense and as long as Arch Manning's injury isn't serious they should make things interesting when Vandy comes to town this week.
LSU
News broke last night that Brian Kelly has been dismissed from LSU but this team is easily still a Top-30 team and my #24. Losing to 4Texas A&M, at 7Ole Miss and at 9Vanderbilt doesn't make them a bad team. They need to fix things and Nussmeier can play better but if the Tigers can start winning on the road I can still see a path for them to make the playoffs.
Memphis
The last two weeks I talked about how overrated Memphis and USF were and while their comeback win against the Bulls was impressive, I have Memphis slightly lower than AP's #25 mark at #29. In my opinion they are one of the very best Non-Power 5 conference schools but still need to have an impressive win on their resume for me to rank them higher.
