For this weekend's game between the Patriots and Packers, veteran QB Brian Hoyer will get the start in place of injured started Mac Jones.

Jones went down with 1:40 left in the game last week in the Patriots 37-26 loss ot the Ravens. Initial reports and MRI scans have revealed that the 24-year old has a high ankle sprain and will likely be out several weeks while it heals.

The starting job was going to either Hoyer or 4th round rookie Bailey Zappe, who had an impressive performance in the preseason. Hoyer was always going to get the start as Belichick has trust in the 36-year old and he knows the system very well.

The Patriots travel to Green Bay this week in a battle of great defenses and hopefully, Hoyer and the running game will have an impact to overcome the loss that is Mac Jones. Hoyer played in 1 game last year and ended it with an almost perfect QB rating so don't count the veteran out just yet.
