Football fans, it’s almost Thanksgiving, which means there are great football games ahead, and of course, good food. There are also fantasy football playoffs just around the corner. Still looking for a roster boost to make a push? Here are a few names that will help you in your quest for the playoffs. So sit back, grab a piece of turducken, and let’s go!
Quarterback

Trevor Lawrence
(Jacksonville Jaguars)
- If you need a quarterback, Lawrence is a great option. He hasn’t been the best starter in the NFL; however, he consistently can put up points. He has had only four games with fewer than 15 points this season. This week, he also gets to play Tennessee, which is a favorable matchup for the Jaguars, who are trying to solidify a playoff spot. If your quarterback is on by this week or is injured, Lawrence is a really good option to pick up and fill the spot.
Running Back
Devin Neal
(New Orleans Saints)
- After starting running back Alvin Kamara was forced out of Sunday’s game due to a knee injury, Neal took over the majority of snaps. He finished the game against the Falcons with just over 11 points, a solid performance. He will likely perform at a similar level against a struggling Miami defense. He is a great option for a running back.
Wide Receiver

Christian Watson
(Green Bay Packers)
- Watson had a solid showing against the Vikings on Sunday, even if it was nowhere near his explosiveness against the Giants. Watson has been reliable as a fantasy receiver throughout the years, and I expect him to be this weekend against the Lions’ defense, which struggled to contain those same Giants that were just eliminated from the playoffs. They will look to play a better game, but I still expect Watson to play well.
Tight End
AJ Barner
(Seattle Seahawks)
- Barner struggled against Tennessee, only getting four targets and two catches for 18 yards. He can play well, though, and I expect him to against the Vikings’ 21st-ranked passing defense. When Barner gets going, he can put up a lot of points, as he did against the Rams two weeks ago. Barner can be a solid pickup if you need a tight end.
Defense/Special Teams
Los Angeles Chargers D/ST - It would be wise to pick up the Chargers defense, as they face the Raiders this week. The Raiders’ offense has continued to struggle to produce week in and week out. Even though this is a division game and those end up closer than expected, I expect the Chargers’ defense to easily shut down Geno Smith and keep some breathing room between them and the Chiefs.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving this Thursday!
