Is it already Week 10? It is hard to believe that we are getting closer to the fantasy football playoffs, which typically start around Week 15. With a few more matchups to go, here are a few names you can pick up to give your team the juice it needs for a playoff push.
Quarterback
Joe Flacco (Cincinnati Bengals) - It amazes me that Flacco is only on 53% of rosters. He has done everything and then some for the Bengals offense in Joe Burrow’s absence. In the past four games, he has scored 20+ fantasy points, making him a valuable asset to the quarterback position. He is on a bye week this week, but will be a useful acquisition for the remainder of the season. If he is available, pick him up now. You may not get the chance again. If he is not available, J.J. McCarthy of the Minnesota Vikings, who is rostered on 39% of teams, is another good fit moving forward.
Running Back
Dylan Sampson (Cleveland Browns) - Picking up Sampson is a wise insurance decision for the running back position. With Quinshon Judkins out due to a shoulder injury suffered in Week 8, Sampson and his counterpart Jerome Ford are splitting the time in the backfield in his absence. Judkins could be back healthy this week, but that is uncertain. Picking either Sampson or Ford up could help out while Judkins is gone. Another name to keep an eye out for would be Devin Singletary, who performed better than Tyrone Tracy Jr. in the Giants’ first game without Cam Skattebo.
Wide Receiver
Alec Pierce (Indianapolis Colts) - Pierce had a good game against the Steelers this past Sunday, securing six catches for 115 yards. He has yet to score a touchdown this season, but he has at least 14.8 PPR points in two of his last three games, and his first touchdown could be at any moment. It is tough to know whether he will boom or bust with the other receivers he is sharing targets with, but if the matchup is right, Pierce can be a huge acquisition in this part of the year.
Tight End
Colston Loveland (Chicago Bears) - Last week, I had mentioned Loveland as a favorable pickup against the Bengals’ defense, and he delivered, catching six passes for 118 yards and two touchdowns. He has another favorable matchup this week against the 31st-ranked New York Giants defense in Chicago. Don’t miss out on Loveland; he could boom and be the difference moving forward.
Defense/Special Teams
Cleveland Browns D/ST - Cleveland has struggled this season, but not on the defensive side of the football. Cleveland posts a top-10 defense led by Myles Garrett and has been giving opposing offenses trouble all season. They have a favorable matchup against a struggling New York Jets offense that is struggling to answer the quarterback question. Only being rostered on 30% of teams as of writing this, the Browns’ defense is a smart choice going into the weekend.

Thanks for reading!
Keep an eye out for more fantasy football content coming out this week.
